Mr. Granton never cracked a smile. His classroom walls were nearly bare and his lectures were stern. He was the most sobersided teacher at Walton Elementary School.
So when Edna Winston saw the man walk up to the stage on open-mic night, she was convinced this was some kind of parallel world she stumbled into.
