Sean John made care not to respond impulsively to threats from the local Ka'Wa'Aila - the youngest of the islands. He knew to plod carefully in any political dealings with the rulers of the Pacific nation. They were all one big family, related in some primary or secondary degree, or a tertiary familial connection at the most.
